What Makes A CHAMPion? Watch Video...
While the coach is absolutely critical to the success of any character based initiative in youth athletics, the student-athlete is the ultimate focus of everything CHAMP does. We believe a strong character-focused partnership between CHAMP, the coaches, clubs, schools, and parents can result in a positive impact on all 14,000 kids playing sports in our community. The benefits to them and consequently to our entire community of participating in a CHAMP program or being coached by a CHAMP coach are enormous:
- Develops self confidence
- Promotes a healthy life style, from a physical, social, mental and spiritual standpoint
- Emphasizes the benefits of hard work, determination, perseverance, diligence, and respect
- Provides opportunities to work on a team, be part of a community, and extend sportsmanship to opponents
Together these elements will equip these young athletes for success in life and enable them to add greater value to the community as adults. The investment in character will multiply exponentially back to our community and other communities like ours across the country as these adults take their positive athletic experiences and one day return to the field as coaches of character themselves. We are training the next generation of parents, business leaders, and coaches with every practice and game our kids participate in…let’s make it count!
Testimonials
"In a 20-year study of 80,000 athletes ranging from high school, college and professional levels, researchers found that athletes are not as morally developed as the normal population. When faced with a moral issue, athletes respond differently from non-athletes. The researchers discovered that athletes scored worse on tests of moral reasoning."

“The best part of having our team participate in this program is the pleasure we get from watching the girls. We don’t have to worry about the coaches yelling at or degrading our daughters. Nor do we have to worry about other parents yelling at the players, coaches, or referees. I think it helps build a stronger more cohesive community that I am proud to be a part of.” Jenny Hubbard, Parent of Blevins 8th Grade Girls Basketball Player
“Our team’s emphasis on positive character has impacted far beyond just our players. It has extended out and impacted the whole school community. Players have worked to improve their character in all aspects of their life. I personally have been encouraged to show good character, and I’ve been healthily reminded that I need to show good character.”
